On the morning of September 23, 2025, the Closing Workshop of the Ho Chi Minh City Industry and Trade Development Forum was convened to review the outcomes achieved throughout more than two months of implementation. The event was jointly organized by Tuổi Trẻ Newspaper, the Ho Chi Minh City Department of Industry and Trade, and the UEH.ISB Honours College, with the aim of formulating and proposing solutions to foster industrial and commercial development in the city’s new phase of growth.

The Forum was launched in July 2025, featuring a series of specialized seminars and in-depth discussions. To date, the Organizing Committee has received more than 150 research papers and policy recommendations from scientists, experts both in Vietnam and abroad, as well as numerous business leaders.
Serving as a bridge between knowledge and practice, the UEH.ISB Honours College directly contributed to the process of data analysis and synthesis, leading to the formulation of key solution groups presented at the Closing Workshop.
These studies and recommendations focus on the strategic vision of transforming Ho Chi Minh City into a leading regional center for Industry – Trade – Logistics, while enhancing trade activities, strengthening competitiveness, and positioning the City as Vietnam’s foremost commercial hub.
At the workshop, Assoc. Prof. Dr. Võ Thị Ngọc Thúy, Academic Director of the UEH.ISB Honours College, emphasized that the Forum had mobilized intellectual resources, dedication, and social responsibility from diverse sectors of society. She also reaffirmed UEH.ISB’s commitment to accompanying the City in translating research ideas into practical and actionable solutions.

The Forum not only served as a platform for gathering opinions but also reflected the consensus and collective efforts of the research community, businesses, and governmental agencies. As an academic nucleus, UEH.ISB played a pivotal role in disseminating knowledge and bridging the scientific community with the realities of socio-economic development. This foundation paves the way for Ho Chi Minh City to realize its vision of becoming a modern, internationally integrated industrial–commercial–service megacity with strong global competitiveness.
