(Asia R&D) – As part of a UK Government-funded initiative, a series of validation workshops on the development of green finance micro-credentials has been successfully conducted across Viet Nam, marking a significant step forward in standardising high-quality human resources for the country’s financial sector.
Building a Sustainable Talent Pipeline
From 2 to 6 March 2026, the UK Green Finance Skills Mission visited Ho Chi Minh City, Da Nang, and Ha Noi. The programme, jointly organised by the British Consulate General and the British Embassy in Viet Nam, brought together more than 400 senior representatives from government agencies, financial institutions, banks, and leading educational organisations.

At the core of the mission was the validation and development of two pioneering micro-credentials tailored for the Vietnamese market:
Applied Green Finance: focusing on project appraisal and the implementation of green taxonomy frameworks.
ESG Integration, Reporting and Assurance: covering international standards such as ISSB, as well as emissions trading systems (ETS/MRV).
Connecting with Leading Global Institutions
The mission featured participation from nine prestigious organisations within the UK Skills Partnership network, including globally recognised professional bodies such as ACCA, ICAEW, and CISI, alongside leading education providers such as City St George’s, University of London, and Pearson.
The involvement of international experts not only brought practical insights from global financial hubs like London but also created valuable opportunities for Vietnamese organisations to deepen collaboration and accelerate progress towards net-zero commitments.
